January.
Plans of full-time studies for two years to be a web developer went up in smoke. No more study loans. No way of changing careers down the traditional route. Buying a new home.
February.
I needed a fun hamburger menu and got me an animated one. Have reused and tweaked it ever since.
Mars.
In comes the Covid-19 pandemic and a reorganisation that hurt. Being ordered to work from home menat a blessing in disguise. Coding on pause.
April.
When one door closes (full-time studies) another one opens (24 weeks part-time JavaScript Boot Camp). Coding application started. Also, trying to sell a house and comfort worried kids.
May.
Being accepted to the Boot Camp. Starting to plan work life, family life, boot camp life and a move. Oldest kid celebrates 12th birthday.
June.
Early vacation. Coding a web site targeting a very local market filling a personal need. Working from home with my partner still meant we had to have lunch. Where to go without commuting? More places than we thought, it turns out. House sold.
July.
Back to work, starting to pack. Coding frontend for Torslanda locals.
August.
Boot camp starts. So nervous, so excited, so much fun. Packing and a dose of tonsillitis.
September.
Working 75 % and attending a 50 % boot camp takes it toll. First sprint, with HTML, CSS and JavaScript basics, down. Second sprint consisting of JavaScript and API on the go. Sorting and packing some more.
October.
Moving. Allergic reaction. House inspections. Endlessly tired. Anxiety and fears. Ordinary work down to 50 % for balance. Middle kid celebrates 9th birthday. Ticking off second sprint and entering React Basics.
November.
Shaken but not fallen. Third sprint ends, fourth with its deep-dive into React starts. Packing up. Still working from home. Kids have lots of sick days from school.
December.
Month of joy and never ending chores. Third child celebrating 5th birthday. Covid-19 status getting a lot worse. Kids continue to have lots of sick days. The deep-dive into React ends. Backend sprint starts.
